"This pub has gone seriously downhill over the last few years since becoming an Arena type venue. Gone are the days that it was filled with local bands, musicians and friendly students. Instead it is now filled with violent drunks presumably barred from everywhere else and taking advantage of the fact this pub is currently under temporary management. Great if you want to see groups of up to twenty young men fighting in the street or, if you have made the mistake of driving there, leaving to find your wing mirrors/windscreen wipers pulled off.

An eighties style dj runs a trashy disco at the weekends while customers urinate in the street outside. If you expect a quiet drink or a bit of food during the week, think again - while you chew on your burnt piece of reclaimed animal remains in a stale bun thrown at you by a barmaid, resentful of having to serve, you will be sang at and dribbled on by old Irish man or woman who should have been refused service many drinks ago.

An absolute dive, it should be closed down immediately."

"So sad to see this live music venue in decline. It needs decorating, heat and some decent bands more regularly. A web site would definitely pull in more punters. Had some brilliant nights there over the years, but audiences have been very small the last few times I've been.

Sound is sometimes wonky, so pull your socks up Hib sort the venue out and start promoting yourselves more!"

"The Venue at the rear of The Hibernian has a well proportioned room and a good stage.

I went on Friday 11 May 2007 to see Brum rock band Far-Cry after seeing them at the Actress the week before. What an excellent band. Beer is just passable and tastes like the pipes need a good clean out but prices are reasonable.

The lighting rig looks very good but for some reason they were just ON..no light show?

Room was cold and with the door open it was no wonder most people were huddled over one side.

This place is good but could be very very good with some forethought and decoration."
