Simply put don't go there.I have rarely had so many problems on a night out! The food took ages to come out, we had to ask for everything, from steak knives, salt and pepper, desert spoons, and they took ages to bring them; the food was bland, the chocolat fondant was burned. The toilets were disgusting, the taps were coming off the sink, and they were just generally dirty with no toilet rolls. And when we ordered wine every bottle we wanted seemed to be out of stock.

All in all the night was aweful, a complete waste of time, and money, never again.

At first the place seems really nice, funky decor, the presentation is really really nice, unfortunately the substance does not live up to the expectations.
I went there with my girl friend for diner, we were sat down, the tables are in lines, put very close together, so your conversation is almost with the tables to either side, but still it promised to be a good night, menue looked good, the waiters were polite. However half the menue was off, it took about 40 minutes for the starters to arrive, and not far off that for the mains afterwards. And when it arrived, it was the wrong order, so we finied off eatting one after the other not together and was really not very good, the fish had bones in it, and we found something very stange in the seafood. We asked to see the manager, they said he would be round shortly. half an hour later we asked again, and in hearing distance it could be clearly hear him saying that we could 'fuck off, he was busy with his friends'.
All in all a vile experience, and would certainly not advise it to anyone. And whilst the staff were all very nice and understanding the middleaged manager really does not do any favours for the establishment!

Came out for dinner last night with out a reservation and stumbled across Crystal Rivers in the Mailbox...

Coming from London, its truely rare to find a restaurant that looks sooo stylish and de'vine as this place is.  The 4 of us were brought in by a Jordan looking PR girl from outside who offered us a lil discount as we were new to the area.

Tried a few of the cocktails first and they were "DELICIOUS!" so much so i personally had 4 (before dinner)

Sat down to eat and was blown away at how good the food and service was (Seabass is a must)

If your new to the area you have to try this place. The decor, Service, food, drinks and even the management were all gorgeous and perfect.

Ignor the other rubbish on here about how bad this place is, seriously give it a go...

xoxo

DO NOT GO HERE we went for a birthday meal, there were 23 of us and it was truley awful. The service was extremely slow - after being seated and order food at 8pm the starters finally arrived at 9.30 and the main at 11pm. the food was cold and tasteless, most side dishes did not even arrive, and the service and attitude of the staff was terrible.

the attitude of the manager when we complained at the end of the meal was terrible and they continually tried to find excusses not to make a reduction to the bill - even though most of the main courses were inedible!! We later discovered from other bar tenders in the area that this is not uncommon and that there are always the same complaints. This is truely the worst restaurant in Birmingham and I strongly advise people to stay away.

We went to this resturant for the first time and the only thing I liked about the resturant was the interior. The food wasn't nice and the service was very bad, I paid for the meal and it wasn't even worth it. I wouldn't go again and I wouldn't recommend it either.
